Painting outdoors

I love painting outdoors even now that fall has given way to winter and snow. The subtle colors of the dark months call for an easier hand, but the golden tones of afternoon winter light brighten more than your palette. And if you can't face the elements when they roar, find a sheltered spot that dims the noise. Or take a winter getaway and bring your paints along. Painting is a wonderfullt fulfilling and very personal experience. Let yourself experience it and grow!

More good news...

"Morning Traffic in Agra", one of my paintings from India, won the top award of merit and cash prize in the Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society's 2011 National Exhibition! You can see it on my Facebook page "Killeleart". I invite you to have a look and "Like" the page. You'll love the view.

One of my paintings, "Cortez Docks", was accepted into the 15th National Exhibition of the American Sopciety of Mariine Artists. The exhibit opened at the Cornell Art Museum in Florida on Oct. 27 and will move to the Mobile Museum of Art in Mobile, AL on Jan. 19, and then continue to 6 other museums around the country over the following 21/2 years.
